OSA offers XML courses through a License of Crane Softwrights. The courses are delivered by renowned XML expert G. Ken Holman. Courses are held in de Meern, (near Utrecht) the Netherlands.

Mr. G. Ken Holman is the Chief Technology Officer for Crane Softwrights Ltd., a Canadian corporation offering XSL, XSLT,
XQuery and XSL-FO language training and general SGML and XML related computer systems analysis services regarding text markup technologies to international customers.

Mr. Holman is the author of training videos and electronically-published and print-published books on XML-related
technologies, and has often been a speaker at related conferences. Prior to establishing Crane, Mr. Holman spent over 13
years in a software development and consulting services company working in the NAPLPS and the SGML industries.

He is still actively involved in the XML standardization community.

CS142 Universal Business Language Deployment

Need to develop an application that implements Electronic invoices? Need to communicate with the government in many European countries for electronic trade transactions?

UBL is the product of an international effort to define a royalty-free library of standard electronic XML business documents such as purchase orders and invoices. UBL eliminates the re-keying of data in existing fax- and paper-based supply chains and providing an entry point into electronic commerce for small and medium-sized businesses.

This high level course presents concepts of the deployment and use of UBL artefacts. It is however not a course in the interpretation of specific UBL information items in a business context or the adaptation of financial systems to the semantics expressed by UBL.

Need to understand Code lists in XML documents your process? Want to secure implement electronic invoicing?

This course covers the development and deployment of controlled vocabularies. It provides an overview of how to apply an validation processes against instances that include constrained information items. This course offers an intensive immersion into all conceptual and practical aspects of deploying controlled vocabularies and associated validation tasks. The class is technical in nature involving hands-on creation of artefacts and the configuration and invocation of validation processes.

This technically-oriented course is written for anyone using controlled vocabularies with any XML document vocabulary, and will be of interest to users of Universal Business Language (UBL).
